Summary
CVE-2023-42725 is a newly disclosed vulnerability affecting GPU drivers. This issue involves a missing bounds check, resulting in a potential out-of-bounds read. An attacker who successfully exploits this vulnerability could cause a local denial-of-service or potentially execute system-level commands, necessitating System execution privileges. In essence, the gpu driver's lack of a bounds check creates an opportunity for attackers to read unintended memory locations and wreak havoc on the system.
