Summary

CVE-2023-4239 is a privilege escalation vulnerability in the Real Estate Manager plugin for WordPress. In affected versions up to 6.7.1, the 'rem_save_profile_front' function lacks sufficient restrictions. This issue allows authenticated attackers, even those with minimal permissions like subscribers, to modify their user role by manipulating the 'wp_capabilities' parameter during a profile update. Successful exploitation of this vulnerability can result in unintended access to sensitive information or functionality. WordPress users are advised to update the Real Estate Manager plugin to the latest version as soon as possible to mitigate this risk.
