Summary

CVE-2023-4218 is a vulnerability affecting Eclipse IDE versions prior to 2023-09 (4.29). This issue allows for XML External Entity (XXE) attacks against certain files with xml content. An attacker can exploit this vulnerability by having a user open a malicious project or update an open project with a vulnerable file. By leveraging this vulnerability, an attacker can potentially gain unauthorized access to sensitive information or even execute arbitrary code.
