Summary

CVE-2023-42095 is a new vulnerability affecting Foxit PDF Reader. This AcroForm Out-Of-Bounds Read Information Disclosure issue enables remote attackers to access sensitive information on affected systems. The flaw is rooted in the inadequate validation of user-supplied data within the handling of Annotation objects, resulting in a read past the end of an allocated buffer. While it does not directly lead to code execution, an attacker could combine this vulnerability with others to achieve that goal. User interaction is necessary to exploit this weakness, requiring the target to visit a malicious webpage or open a malicious file.
