Summary

CVE-2023-42089 is a Use-After-Free Information Disclosure vulnerability affecting Foxit PDF Reader. This issue allows remote attackers to disclose sensitive information by exploiting the flaw in the handling of templates. The vulnerability arises due to a lack of validation for the existence of an object before performing operations on it. An attacker can capitalize on this weakness, along with other vulnerabilities, to execute arbitrary code in the context of the current process. This vulnerability, identified as ZDI-CAN-21586, was reported to Foxit and requires user interaction, such as visiting a malicious webpage or opening a malicious file, to be exploited.
