Summary

CVE-2023-41681 is a cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting various versions of Fortinet FortiSandbox, including 4.4.1, 4.4.0, 4.2.0 through 4.2.5, 4.0.0 through 4.0.3, 3.2.0 through 3.2.4, 3.1.0 through 3.1.5, and 3.0.0 through 3.0.7, as well as 2.5.0 through 2.5.2 and 2.4.1. This issue arises due to FortiSandbox's failure to properly neutralize user input during web page generation, enabling attackers to inject malicious scripts into web pages and steal sensitive data or execute unauthorized commands via specially crafted HTTP requests. Successful exploitation of this vulnerability can lead to significant security risks and potential data breaches. It is recommended that Fortinet users immediately apply available patches or updates to address this issue.
