Summary

CVE-2023-41675 is a use-after-free vulnerability [CWE-416] affecting FortiOS versions 7.2.0 through 7.2.4 and 7.0.0 through 7.0.10, and FortiProxy versions 7.2.0 through 7.2.2 and 7.0.0 through 7.0.8. This issue enables an unauthenticated remote attacker to cause the WAD process to crash on targeted FortiOS and FortiProxy systems. The vulnerability arises when handling multiple crafted packets that reach proxy policies or firewall policies with proxy mode and SSL deep packet inspection enabled. Successful exploitation could potentially lead to denial-of-service conditions.
