Summary

CVE-2023-41280 is a newly discovered vulnerability affecting several versions of QNAP operating systems. It involves a buffer copy issue where input size is not checked, potentially allowing authenticated administrators to execute code over a network. This issue could lead to serious security consequences. QNAP has already released patches to address this vulnerability in QTS 5.1.2.2533 and later, QuTS hero h5.1.2.2534 and later, and QuTScloud c5.1.5.2651 and later. System administrators are encouraged to update their QNAP devices as soon as possible to mitigate this risk.
