Summary

CVE-2023-41238 is a reflected Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the UltimatelySocial Social Media Share Buttons & Social Sharing Icons plugin versions 2.8.3 and below. An attacker can exploit this flaw by injecting malicious code into a website, which may be using this plugin, via a specially crafted URL. Successful exploitation could lead to unauthorized script execution in users' web browsers, potentially resulting in information disclosure, session hijacking, or other unintended actions. It is recommended that users of the vulnerable plugin upgrade to a secure version as soon as possible to mitigate this risk.
