Summary

CVE-2023-40958 is a SQL injection vulnerability affecting Didotech srl Engineering & Lifecycle Management (pdm) versions 14.0, 15.0, and 16.0. An attacker who is already authenticated can exploit this flaw in the models/base_client.py component by injecting malicious SQL queries via a query parameter. Successful exploitation grants the attacker the ability to execute arbitrary code, posing a significant threat to the integrity and confidentiality of affected systems. This issue has been addressed in the patched versions pdm-14.0.1.0.0, pdm-15.0.1.0.0, and pdm-16.0.1.0.0. System administrators are urged to apply these updates as soon as possible to mitigate the risk.
