Summary

CVE-2023-40809 is a new cybersecurity vulnerability affecting OpenCRX version 5.2.0. This issue allows an attacker to inject HTML code into the Activity Search Criteria-Activity Number feature. The vulnerability can be exploited to execute malicious scripts or steal sensitive user information, potentially leading to serious security breaches. Users are urged to update to the latest version of OpenCRX to mitigate this risk. The HTML injection attack can occur through specially crafted input in the Activity Number field, allowing an attacker to bypass input validation and execute arbitrary HTML code in the context of the affected application.
