Summary
CVE-2023-40687 is a denial-of-service vulnerability affecting IBM DB2 for Linux, UNIX, and Windows versions 10.5, 11.1, and 11.5. An attacker can exploit this issue by sending a specially crafted RUNSTATS command to an 8TB table, causing the database server to crash and become unresponsive. This vulnerability, tracked as IBM X-Force ID: 264809, poses a serious risk of service disruption for organizations using the affected DB2 versions.
