Summary

CVE-2023-40656 is a newly identified reflected Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Quickform component in Joomla. This issue allows an attacker to inject malicious scripts into a webpage viewed by other users, potentially leading to data theft or unauthorized actions. Successful exploitation requires the attacker to craft a malicious link that, when clicked, triggers the vulnerable function and executes the payload in the user's browser. Joomla users are encouraged to update their Quickform component to the latest version to mitigate this risk.
