Summary

CVE-2023-40596 is a newly disclosed vulnerability affecting Splunk Enterprise versions prior to 8.2.12, 9.0.6, and 9.1.1. The issue stems from an insecure reference to an OpenSSL directory (OPENSSLDIR) in a dynamic link library (DLL) within Splunk Enterprise.
