Summary

CVE-2023-40577 is a vulnerability affecting Alertmanager, a component of the Prometheus monitoring system. An attacker with authorized access can exploit this issue by sending malicious alerts to the /api/v1/alerts endpoint. Successful exploitation allows the attacker to execute arbitrary JavaScript code, posing a potential security risk to users of Prometheus Alertmanager. This vulnerability has been resolved in Alertmanager version 0.2.51.
