Summary

CVE-2023-40463 is a vulnerability affecting ALEOS 4.16 and earlier versions. In debugging mode, an authenticated user with administrative privileges can store the SHA512 hash of the common root password in a directory accessible to users with root privileges or equivalent access. This issue poses a significant security risk, as the hash can be easily accessed and potentially used to gain unauthorized access to the system.
