Summary

CVE-2023-40206 is a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting version 1.0.3 of the hwk-fr WP 404 Auto Redirect to Similar Post plugin for WordPress. An attacker can inject malicious scripts into admin pages, which are executed whenever an administrator visits the affected page. Successful exploitation could lead to unauthorized access to user data or even complete takeover of the WordPress site. It is strongly recommended that users update to the latest version of the plugin to mitigate this risk.
