Summary

CVE-2023-40194 is a vulnerability affecting Foxit Reader 12.1.3.15356, where the Javascript exportDataObject API mishandles whitespace characters. This issue results in an arbitrary file creation vulnerability, enabling a malicious actor to create files in arbitrary locations. The attacker needs the user to open a specially crafted file or visit a malicious website to exploit this vulnerability, potentially leading to arbitrary code execution.
