Summary

CVE-2023-40090 is a newly disclosed vulnerability affecting the BTM_BleVerifySignature function in btm_ble.cc. The issue lies in the way signature validation is handled, allowing an attacker to bypass this check through side channel information disclosure. This bypass could potentially lead to a remote privilege escalation, granting the attacker elevated access without requiring any additional execution privileges. Notably, user interaction is not necessary for an attacker to exploit this vulnerability.
