Summary

CVE-2023-40082 is a newly disclosed vulnerability affecting the modify_for_next_stage function in fdt.rs. This issue permits an attacker to render Kernel Address Space Layout Randomization (KASLR) ineffective by exploiting improper cryptographic handling. Consequences of this vulnerability include remote privilege escalation, making it a severe threat. Notably, no additional execution privileges are required for an attacker to exploit this flaw, and user interaction is not necessary.
