Summary

CVE-2023-3964 is a vulnerability affecting multiple versions of GitLab, specifically those before 16.4.3 for versions 13.2 and higher, and all versions of 16.5 and 16.6 prior to their respective first point releases. This issue enables unintended access to Composer packages for public projects that have the package registry disabled in their project settings. Users with malicious intent could exploit this vulnerability to gain unauthorized access to protected packages and potentially install malicious code. Project administrators are urged to update their GitLab instances to the latest patched versions to mitigate the risk.
