Summary

CVE-2023-3957 is a vulnerability affecting the ACF Photo Gallery Field plugin for WordPress. This issue allows authenticated attackers, including those with subscriber-level permissions, to arbitrarily update user metas due to insufficient restrictions on the 'apg_profile_update' function. The impact of this vulnerability is the unauthorized modification of data, and the affected meta values can only consist of strings. Versions up to and including 1.9 are vulnerable to this issue.
