Summary

CVE-2023-39514 is a stored Cross-Site-Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting Cacti, an open-source operational monitoring framework. This issue enables authenticated users with specific permissions to inject malicious JavaScript code into the _cacti_ database.The affected data, which includes graph details, will be executed in the victim's browser when viewing the graph. An adversary can exploit this vulnerability by configuring a data-source template or a device with malicious code, potentially targeting users with _General Administration>Graphs_ privileges. This could lead to serious security risks. To mitigate this vulnerability, users should upgrade to version 1.2.25 or manually add HTML escaping for affected data.
