Summary
CVE-2023-39331 is a new vulnerability that surfaced after an insufficient patch for CVE-2023-30584 in Node.js commit 205f1e6. This issue arises due to the Node.js implementation's failure to prevent user-defined overwriting of built-in utility functions, enabling path traversal attacks. Notably, the experimental permission model in Node.js at the time this CVE was reported may contribute to this vulnerability.
