Summary
CVE-2023-39318 is a vulnerability affecting the html/template package. The issue lies in the package's handling of comments in <script> contexts. Specifically, it fails to properly interpret HTML-like "//" and hashbang "#!" comment tokens. As a result, the template parser may incorrectly interpret the contents of <script> contexts, potentially leading to Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) attacks.
