Summary

CVE-2023-39191 is a critical vulnerability affecting the eBPF subsystem in the Linux kernel. This issue arises due to a lack of proper input validation for dynamic pointers within user-supplied eBPF programs. As a result, an attacker with CAP_BPF privileges can exploit this flaw and escalate privileges, potentially executing arbitrary code in the context of the kernel. The vulnerability poses a serious risk, as it enables attackers to bypass critical security boundaries and gain unauthorized access to sensitive information.
