Summary
CVE-2023-38728 is a denial-of-service vulnerability affecting IBM Db2 for Linux, UNIX, and Windows versions 10.5, 11.1, and 11.5. An attacker can exploit this issue by sending a specifically designed XML query statement, causing the database management system to become unresponsive and preventing legitimate users from accessing the service. IBM X-Force has assigned the ID 262258 to this security concern. Organizations using the vulnerable Db2 versions should apply the available patches to mitigate this risk.
