Summary

CVE-2023-38702 is a vulnerability affecting the Knowage open source analytics and business intelligence suite. In versions prior to 8.1.8 in the 6.x.x branch, the endpoint `/knowage/restful-services/dossier/importTemplateFile` permits authenticated users to upload template files without requiring authorization. Should an attacker successfully upload a JSP file to the affected system, they can then execute malicious code by accessing `/knowageqbeengine/foo.jsp`. This vulnerability enables low-privileged attackers to gain code execution capability on the server. The issue has been resolved in Knowage version 8.1.8.
