Summary

CVE-2023-38565 is a newly identified path handling vulnerability that, if exploited, could allow an application to elevate its privileges to root level. This issue has been addressed and resolved in the latest versions of macOS Monterey 12.6.8, iOS 16.6, iPadOS 16.6, macOS Big Sur 11.7.9, and macOS Ventura 13.5, as well as watchOS 9.6. By improving validation, this vulnerability prevents unauthorized applications from gaining unintended access to sensitive system resources.
