Summary

CVE-2023-38559 is a newly identified buffer overflow vulnerability affecting the ghostscript software in its devn_pcx_write_rle() function, located at base/gdevdevn.c:1973. Local attackers can exploit this flaw by creating and using a specially crafted PDF file for a DEVN device to trigger the buffer overflow, leading to a denial of service. Ghostscript users are advised to apply the appropriate patch or update to mitigate this risk.
