Summary

CVE-2023-38407 is a vulnerability affecting the FRRouting (FRR) software before version 8.5. The issue lies in the bgpd/bgp_label.c component of the software, which attempts to read beyond the intended stream end during labeled unicast parsing. This behavior may result in a buffer overflow, potentially leading to arbitrary code execution or denial of service. Systems with unpatched FRR installations are at risk of exploitation. It is strongly recommended to update to the latest version of FRR to mitigate this vulnerability.
