Summary

CVE-2023-38379 is a vulnerability affecting the web interface of RIGOL MSO5000 digital oscilloscopes with firmware 00.01.03.00.03. An attacker can exploit this issue by sending a zero-length password during a password change request to the webcontrol changepwd.cgi application. Successful exploitation allows the attacker to modify the admin password, granting unauthorized access to the device's settings. This vulnerability poses a risk to the confidentiality and integrity of data handled by the oscilloscope. Users are advised to update their firmware to mitigate this issue.
