Summary

CVE-2023-38320 is a newly identified vulnerability affecting OpenNDS Captive Portal before version 10.1.2. The issue involves a NULL pointer dereference in the show_preauthpage function, which can be triggered by sending a crafted GET HTTP request without a User-Agent header. This vulnerability results in a Denial-of-Service condition as OpenNDS crashes. OpenWrt has addressed this issue with the release of version 10.1.3 on August 28, 2023, which includes updates to OpenNDS for OpenWrt 23.05, OpenWrt 22.03, and OpenWrt master.
