Summary

CVE-2023-38303 is a recently identified vulnerability in Webmin 2.021. This issue enables an attacker to execute remote commands by exploiting a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) weakness in the Users and Group's real name parameter. Successful exploitation of this vulnerability could lead to significant security consequences, including unauthorized system access and data theft. Users are urged to update their Webmin installations as soon as possible to mitigate this risk. The XSS vulnerability allows an attacker to inject malicious scripts, which can then be stored and later executed on unsuspecting users, resulting in Remote Command Execution (RCE) capabilities.
