Summary
CVE-2023-38228 is a Use After Free vulnerability affecting Adobe Acrobat Reader versions 23.003.20244 and earlier, as well as 20.005.30467 and earlier. This issue allows an attacker to execute arbitrary code in the context of the current user, after the victim opens a maliciously crafted PDF file. The vulnerability occurs due to improper memory handling, leading to memory being freed prematurely and later being used without proper validation, resulting in code execution. Users are strongly urged to update their Adobe Acrobat Reader software as soon as possible to mitigate this risk.
