Summary

CVE-2023-38057 is an input validation vulnerability affecting the OTRS Survey modules. This issue permits any attacker with a link to a valid but unanswered survey request to inject malicious JavaScript code into free text answers. As a result, a cross-site scripting (XSS) attack can be launched, allowing unauthorized access to replies as an authenticated agent. This vulnerability impacts OTRS Survey modules from versions 7.0.X up to and including 7.0.31, versions 8.0.X up to and including 8.0.12, and the Community Edition Survey module from versions 6.0.X through 6.0.22.
