Summary

CVE-2023-37915 is a vulnerability affecting OpenDDS, an open-source C++ implementation of the Object Management Group (OMG) Data Distribution Service (DDS). This issue arises when OpenDDS encounters a malformed `PID_PROPERTY_LIST` within a DATA submessage during participant discovery. Attackers can exploit this vulnerability by sending a maliciously crafted DATA submessage to the known multicast port, causing OpenDDS processes to crash remotely. There are no known workarounds for this vulnerability, and affected users are strongly advised to upgrade to OpenDDS version 3.25 to mitigate risk.
