Summary

CVE-2023-37907 is a vulnerability affecting the Cryptomator data encryption software. Before version 1.9.2, the MSI installer available on the homepage enabled local privilege escalation (LPE) for less privileged users who had already installed the software. This issue stems from the repair function of the MSI, which spawns two administrative CMDs. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability to gain higher system privileges, posing a significant security risk. Version 1.9.2 addresses this issue by fixing the LPE vulnerability in the Cryptomator MSI installer.
