Summary

CVE-2023-37900 is a vulnerability affecting Crossplane, a framework used for building cloud native control planes without coding. In affected versions (prior to 1.11.5, 1.12.3, and 1.13.0), a high-privileged user can create a maliciously large Package referencing an image, causing Crossplane to parse and potentially exhaust all available memory. This may result in the container being OOMKilled. The impact is mitigated by the high privilege requirements to create Packages and the eventual consistency nature of the controller. Versions 1.11.5, 1.12.3, and 1.13.0 have resolved the issue.
