Summary

CVE-2023-37474 is a newly identified vulnerability affecting versions prior to 1.8.2 of the Copyparty portable file server. This issue involves a path traversal vulnerability, which can be exploited in the `.cpr` subfolder. An attacker who successfully executes a path traversal attack can gain unauthorized access to files, directories, and potentially execute commands outside the web document root directory. The vulnerability has been addressed in commit `043e3c7d`, which is included in release 1.8.2. Users are strongly urged to upgrade their Copyparty installation as soon as possible, as there are currently no known workarounds for this vulnerability.
