Summary

CVE-2023-37471 is a vulnerability affecting Open Access Management (OpenAM) versions up to 14.7.2. The issue lies in the inadequate validation of SAML response signatures during the Single Sign-On (SSO) process using SAMLv1.x. Malicious actors can exploit this flaw to impersonate any OpenAM user, including administrators, by crafting and sending a deceptive SAML response to the `SAMLPOSTProfileServlet` servlet. To mitigate this risk, users unable to upgrade should comment out the `SAMLPOSTProfileServlet` from their pom file, or upgrade to OpenAM 14.7.3-SNAPSHOT and later versions, which include the necessary patch.
