Summary

CVE-2023-37273 is a vulnerability affecting Auto-GPT, an open-source application based on the GPT-4 language model. Versions prior to 0.4.3, which can be run by cloning the git repo and executing `docker compose run auto-gpt`, use an unsecured docker-compose.yml file. This file, located in the repo root and mounted into the container without write protection, is susceptible to being overwritten by malicious custom python code executed via `execute_python_file` and `execute_python_code` commands. The modified docker-compose.yml file can be exploited to gain control of the host system the next time Auto-GPT is started. The vulnerability has been addressed in version 0.4.3.
