Summary

CVE-2023-37266 is a vulnerability affecting CasaOS, an open-source Personal Cloud system. Unauthenticated attackers can exploit this issue by crafting malicious JSON Web Tokens (JWTs) to gain unauthorized access to features requiring authentication and execute arbitrary root commands on CasaOS instances. The vulnerability was resolved in commit `705bf1f`, which is part of CasaOS 0.4.4. To mitigate risk, users should upgrade to this version as soon as possible. If an upgrade is not feasible, they should restrict access to CasaOS to trusted users by not exposing it publicly.
