Summary

CVE-2023-36947 refers to a stack overflow vulnerability discovered in the TOTOLINK X5000R V9.1.0u.6118_B20201102 and TOTOLINK A7000R V9.1.0u.6115_B20201022 firmwares. This issue can be exploited by sending a specially crafted file as a parameter to the UploadCustomModule function, causing an overflow in the stack and potentially leading to arbitrary code execution or system crashes. Successful exploitation of this vulnerability could result in unauthorized access to the affected device or its network. Users of the affected firmware versions are advised to update to the latest version as soon as possible to mitigate this risk.
