Summary

CVE-2023-36806 is a vulnerability affecting the Contao content management system. Versions prior to 4.9.42, 4.13.28, and 5.1.10 of Contao are susceptible, allowing untrusted backend users to inject malicious code into headline fields. This code execution occurs in both the back end preview and on the front end of the website. The vulnerability only impacts installations with untrusted back end users who can modify headline fields, or other fields using the input unit widget. Patches are available for Contao 4.9.42, 4.13.28, and 5.1.10. As a temporary measure, administrators can disable back end login access for untrusted users.
