Summary

CVE-2023-36753 is a critical vulnerability affecting multiple RUGGEDCOM device models, including ROX MX5000, ROX RX1400, and others. The issue lies in the uninstall-app parameter of the web interface, which is susceptible to command injection due to insufficient input validation. A privileged remote attacker, who has already gained access to these devices, can exploit this vulnerability to execute arbitrary code with root privileges. This could potentially result in significant security breaches and unauthorized system control. Users are strongly advised to update their devices to the V2.16.0 version or contact RUGGEDCOM support for mitigation strategies.
