Summary

CVE-2023-36730 is a remote code execution vulnerability affecting the Microsoft ODBC (Open Database Connectivity) Driver for SQL Server. Malicious actors can exploit this vulnerability by sending specially crafted data packets to a targeted SQL Server instance via the ODBC driver. Successful exploitation allows the attacker to execute arbitrary code on the system running the SQL Server service, potentially leading to significant data loss or unauthorized access.
