Summary

CVE-2023-36719 is an elevation of privilege vulnerability affecting Microsoft Speech Application Programming Interface (SAPI). An attacker who successfully exploits this vulnerability can run arbitrary code with administrator privileges, potentially leading to serious security implications for affected systems. This issue arises due to a flaw in the way SAPI handles certain speech recognition data, allowing an attacker to escalate their privileges and gain unauthorized access. System administrators are strongly encouraged to apply the Microsoft Security Bulletin MS23-036, which addresses this vulnerability, to protect their environments.
