Summary

CVE-2023-3649 is a denial-of-service vulnerability affecting Wireshark versions 4.0.0 to 4.0.6. The iSCSI dissector in Wireshark crashes when processing a maliciously crafted packet or capture file. An attacker can exploit this issue by injecting malformed iSCSI packets or using crafted capture files to cause the iSCSI dissector to crash, resulting in a denial-of-service condition for the Wireshark user. This vulnerability may impact network monitoring and analysis, potentially disrupting critical operations in industries such as finance, healthcare, and government.
