Summary

CVE-2023-36473 is a newly discovered vulnerability affecting Discourse, an open-source discussion platform. This issue involves the reuse of nonces in Content Security Policy (CSP) headers, potentially enabling Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) attacks that could bypass CSP protection. Although no known XSS vectors exist currently, the vulnerability's severity lies in its capability to completely bypass CSP once an XSS attack vector is identified. The latest tests-passed, beta, and stable Discourse branches have been patched to address this concern.
